This shoe is the definition of a premium offering by Adidas. The outsole is perfect for indoor use. The boost cushioning provides great impact protection in the forefoot and heel. The textile upper on the home colorway is awesome. The strap system keeps you locked in and secure. Go a half size down for a better fit. Ventilation is decent.
Starting with support, the stable frame on the midsole and the flat outsole work together to prevent instability when playing. The ankle collar is well padded and secures your ankle great, while leaving room for people who wear ankle braces or speedwraps. The heel has a prominent external heel counter and an internal heel counter, the external heel counter goes right up to the ankle and pulls the heel and ankle down for great containment. The full length boost, that Adidas implemented, work perfectly on indoor and outdoor settings. I personally am prone to aching knees and ankles after a basketball game. However, with the boost setup, I felt no pain after my games and the cushioning is just awesome. The traction was amazing, I played on both indoor and outdoor courts and they held up fine. They are made up of thick/shallow rubber and can withstand any court conditions; dirty and/or dusty courts need constant wiping. The mesh upper is soft and rigid in places that need to be, little to no break in time needed and is adequately breathable. The fit depends on your feet, wide feet may need to go half size bigger and narrow feet, stick to your true size. There is a little bit of dead space on the toebox, which bothers me a little bit.
The DRose 6 is an overall great shoe. The interior padding is great. I was a little skeptical with the traction pattern at first because it seemed a little shallow, however, I was proven wrong when I tried it on. The boost is once again amazing, this shoe does have a lot more boost than last year's model. The lock down, with the extended "seat belt" feature really locks you down. The only downside for me was the materials on the colorway that I got (I got the Halloween). The synthetic leather just feels a bit stiff. But, overall great job Adidas!
I have to say the craft of my pair of shoes is not good. It's obvious that there are some differences between my right one and left one which focus on the forefoot part. If I have to pay in this price I prefer the teamshoes like Crazyquick 3.
I play point guard and I always like a shoe with more court feel and these are just like that,so you can expect not much cushion. If you want more cushion go with D Rose 6.I play indoor and traction was good for me.All around it's a good shoe for a guard who wants court feel and quality is really good for the money you're spending.
I don't have much experience with Adidas basketball shoes. I made the move because Boost is my favorite cushioning system. These shoes are very comfortable and were easy to break in. The lacing takes some finessing. I had to loosen and tighten certain areas to get the fit that I wanted. The toebox is extremely roomy compared to the rest of the shoe. I wore some of my thicker basketball socks and it solved that problem. If you like Boost and wonder how Boost performs on the basketball court I would recommend these.
When you first see this sneaker in person, the black and pink just pops with bold colour. The glow in the dark sole gives it the bang when the light goes out. Amazing comfort on and off the court. The fit is true to size.
Where do I start!? Fantastic this Rose is a huge improvement to its previous model. I had the Rose 5 and quickly dismissed them a wearable basketball shoe for me. The boost in this shoe is unbelievable I wish I could sleep on boost. The shoe hits every single point as a premier basketball shoe. I can't find a negative thing to say. The crazy light boost were in my bag all summer. The 6 has undoubtedly replace them in my Adi bag
So I wanted the 6's but they didn't have my size. So I picked these. I like bounce foam almost as much as the boost. The lockdown is amazing. These do run a little narrow so I went up to a 9.5 instead of the normal 9 i wear. The ankle support is really nice but not to restrictive. Traction is really good as well. Even on the dirty middle school gym floor my league plays in. overall I was very impressed.
Last year, I copped a pair of D Rose 5 Chicago Ice, first woven version, and it was great. The design is simple and clean. Comfort, amazing. I went 10.5 though my feet are 10. Then last week, checked a pair of Lillard 1 on one of adidas' outlet stores here, outlet or factory stores are fine by the way, tried and compared Lillard's Made in March and Weber State sizes 10 and 10.5, then came into conclusion that I'll go with size 10 on Lillard's. Now that the Ballin Deads are here, I'll skip Drose 6 for the time being because Im waiting, if ever, for the Chicago Ice version of Drose 6, I'll surely buy Lillard's Halloween shoes next week because they are super dope! Great concept, you all at adidas. Keep it up.
Boost is amazing! Heel cushion is best out, forefoot is the perfect balance between court feel and responsive cushion. Normally I wear a 12, but went down 1/2 size for a glove like fit. Traction is great, no slippage. Prefer home colorway upper over away upper, this is how boost should feel on a basketball court, only thing missing is a primeknit upper, great job adidas!
I played in the Drose 5 and I remember being a little disappointed and not feeling the boost as I did in the Pure boost or the CrazyBoost running shoes and the shoe was really firm I guess for the support and it served well but it was a little to firm for me. These shoes are perfect balance in everything I want! You can totally feel the Boost in the forefoot a lot more and the heel which is so enjoyable especially on those hard landings. The shoe is very secure without being to firm like the Drose 5 and the Gray model is very breathable and the inner lining is so soft to like it feels like a pillow is surrounding your ankle but still giving you that support. Overall Great shoe! Going to get another pair!
1st, these dont have trifoil adidas emblem on tongue, its the regular one 2nd they are roomy at the toes 3rd the leather is not stiff but doesnt really mold to the foot.. wouldve liked a more flexible material, doesnt seem performance oriented. im regretting a bit not getting the regular model 4th the insole is too thin, like all other adidas insoles 5th i like traction and containment - non marking outsole 6th durable for outside play 7th feeling the boost. wanted more on the frontfoot though, thats where the magic is, not the heel 8th the shoelaces are low quality. i replaced them. especially incompatible with the skin, as they get pinched all the time. - probably the laces were the biggest let down, they make the shoes looks cheap
I bought these basketball shoes for my Son in his mid-teens. The shoes have elevated his credibility as he transitions from a boy to a Man. We were expecting a comfortable shoe and that is exactly what my Son has with traditional Adidas Ultra-Style.
Excellent look with as much comfortable cushion as you can get, no doubt the power of Boost. Definitely suits for any type position player whether you play inside or outside. This is too good to miss.
Comfortable sneaker, however after owning them for appropriately 2 months now, I have noticed that my right foot has become a little more sore than usual. However, when I rock a different basketball pair the minor pain isn't present afterwards. Keep in mind I am an active athlete when it comes to local basketball leagues. I also play basketball at open gyms 3-5 days a week for 2+ hours. I think this shoe is better as a lifestyle shoe, however if you purchase a pair primarily for basketball, select the crazy light boost 2015. Adidas is STILL my #1 brand though!
Combination of Adidas' top technologies: primeknit and boost Primeknit causes the shoe to be a little spacier than preferred regarding width but otherwise runs true to size. Boost is noticeable but only in heel strikes when landing on impact. Otherwise, not too noticeable in game.
I have got extremely wide feet so I went up half a size and so far I have had no complaints! After 2 hours of training the trainers broke in nicely! It has moulded to my foot. The heel is outstanding when landing and taking off. The forefoot is great with it's adiprene, keeps me low to the ground and makes me feel like I've got a quicker first step! Traction maybe an issue, seems a bit too thin, curious if can last me a whole season. Every now and then I have to wipe but that's not an issue!
These are the best pair of shoes I have ever hooped in and I have over 65 pairs of basketball shoes. They are cheaper than any other shoe and I now have 7 pairs of them. I would recommend this shoe for anyone looking to buy a new pair of basketball shoes
I love the Bounce tech in the heel very responsive and comfortable once broken in (which was only a few games). Also the grip is CRAZY!!! especially for being a translucent, only thing i would add is maybe a geofit collar for added ankle support and lockdown but for $110 I can't be mad at adidas. #3StripeOverEverything
These shoes are my favorite basketball and casual shoes I own! I own the frozen blue/scarlet pair and the brown orche pair and I ball in both pairs. These shoes are so comfortable that I could wear them to the court, on the court, and leaving the court, without ever taking them off!
I have had these shoes for 3 weeks now and have played on in and outdoor courts, and still no sign of wearing. The integrated ankle strap was great for lockdown, but would be better if it wasn't glued to the surface so you could either tighten or loosen the strap. The breathable mesh has been great for hot days and for when I have sweaty feet. The bounce cushioning is absolutely fantastic! And it absolutely responds just as well as other boost shoes! The herringbone traction is really good and when I play on dusty courts there is still no sign of slippage. Overall this show has been fantastic and would recommend it to anyone!
the Year of the goat colour way.. other than the color, i thought it wasn't a good choice.. but when i received it.. Wow, its actually sweet in person. but the traction is beast, wave bone on the fore foot, with full length stubs kinda lookin image, and with Full length Boost. Most comfortable Cushioning set up made by adidas. its Very responsive. and the support is just the way i like it, i feel safe in these. and Material wise, i thought they would be leather.. but looks more like synthetic, who knows but the material is pretty durable so thats the good part. Overall, Great Shoe! and i am very Satisfied with the purchase.
I only wore these once so take it with a grain of salt but so far so good! Love the look and feel, slightly on large size so if you buying online (like I did) I would recommend trying it on first in the store
Unlike the other review I personally think these YOTG versions are so-so in terms of quality. For a shoe that retails for $190 CAD the uppers are pretty cheap. Everything on the uppers is pretty much synthetic, fake leather. As for fit they definitely fit a little wider than virtually all other Adidas basketball shoes I've tried. My feet are 8.5 US extra wide, and size 9 US fits good in the length but the width needs just a little bit of breaking in and stretching (which will be easy due to the soft, synthetic uppers). Having said that, there is no breathability whatsoever in this shoe. They're not overly stiff at all and will break in pretty easy.
