Rated 1 out of 5 by Encol Runner Look what it looks like after a year of usage...
Since my last review was rejected because of a supposed "customer service focus instead of product focus", this time I will just post some pictures of all the corrosion on the back and side of this watch after a year of usage and let you conclude by yourself how bad this product really is. By the way, at this moment, my watch is completely dead. All of this, just to remember, with about a year of regular usage, average once or twice a week to run 10K in the city.

Well at $500 you would expect something pretty top notch. I have had mine for about 3 months now. Issues:
1. Very very poor battery life compared to my old Garmin or Nokia Lumia 1020.
2. Very very poor GPS lock compared to my old Garmin or Nokia Lumia 1020.
3. Very very poor GPS tracking (some of the routes it tracked on my circuit!) compared to my Nokia Lumia 1020 using Micoach or Runtastic.
This is all hardware related.
Some good attributes:
2. Bluetooth connectivity etc
These are software related and not particularly special to Smart Run.
Mine will not turn on now (and yes it has been charged up).
I would wait until the technology improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by neonrunner78 great job Adidas!
I've been using the miCoach mobile app for a long time now because it's the only app that delivers the coaching I need to keep me on track in my training program. of course carrying the phone is cumbersome and I'm not a big fan of the arm bands when i run, so when I saw smart run i was delighted. first run with it was fantastic. It was pretty easy to set up and syncing to my account went smooth. getting heart rate AND coaching all from this one device is superb, but adding the the Bluetooth connection for music really tied it all together for me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Witcher Has the hardware, but software needs to catch up
Let me start off first by saying. Adidas has done what nobody else has. This watch has everything you could want in a fitness watch. It has almost resolved all the issues of the MotoActiv. The only let down and this is my opinion is closed software. This would have suited my purpose if it could be a hybrid fitness tracker and monitor steps + HR. This would totally removed the need of a second device. I don't know if this will be implemented in the future, but it would appeal to more people if the HRM could be used 24/7. Maybe the battery is the limiting factor.

I've been using the smart run and micoach to train for a marathon for 8 days now and I am already starting to see an improvement in my performance. Setup was simple and the micoach website is easy to use. Battery life isn't great, but fair considering all the things the smart run is doing while you run. A half marathon (with music) took it from 92% to 36% charge. On the plus side it charges quickly so just remember to top it up each evening after you run. The HRM works well and it takes the GPS about a minute to get a fix before you start each workout. The wifi sync is a nice feature as well. It won't replace your day to day watch, but if you have a serious training goal in mind, then it's a fantastic tool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ictdave Nowhere near as bad as some reviews would suggest
I have had the watch for just over a week and love it. I have had other famous name (for sports) watches before and this is better. The good - seamless automatic uploading to Strava and MicCoach so no messing around at all, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth easy to set up, controls simple and intuitive, screen is clear, information accurate, integration of heart monitoring (I don't like the chest bands), coaching, music uploading and configurability. The bad - battery life, but with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a clear colour screen that's the price you have to pay until the next round of tech innovation.

Rated 3 out of 5 Good Start - Not ready
The watch does everything it promises with out fault...battery life. I am very active and would want to track heart rate and calories burned often. The battery just cannot keep up with me. If they get that right, this will be a fantastic product. The largest concern when I bought it was will the heart rate monitor be accurate. It is. I was very pleased with the accuracy and the fact that I did not have to wear the watch to tight to get a reading. Good start Adidas. Just address that battery life and you will have a five start product..

Rated 3 out of 5 by outlaw75 No Watch mode / Battery so so
Watch looks great! Cool design and look.
I am a tall guy and could use one or two more holes on wrist band... I am on the last hole and its tight, but I guess better for the heart rate.
Have not been on a run yet, this is the longest winter ever! But got GPS working on a few walks.
#1 problem is I wanted this to be a daily use watch. NO always on watch face (old nike +) have to hit the button every time I want to see the time.
#2 Battery life is short... even with no watch mode and only looking at the time with the button I don't think it will make a week. Much less if I use GSP.
I love all the function , but it still needs the basic function of a watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pheed No more chest straps..yay
Build quality of unit is top notch, just make sure to wipe the HeartRate sensor area (or the whole underneath of watch) with a damp cloth so the residual salts from body is removed from watch surface...do this after every run. This should minimize chances of rust that i have heard few folks complain about. Apart from that unit performs fine, you get access to MIXRADIO, GPS lock is quick. Internal memory is wee bit limited compared to my 16GB MotoActv , in run telemetry updates are synced whilst online - via Wifi and the miCoach website is very nicely laid out, allowing for progress/history etc... overall am very happy with purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by dom78 Not a serious contender for a GPS/running watch
This was bought as a present to replace my Garmin and although it has some great features it fails to live up to expectations. The two main aspects critical for a training watch, battery life and GPS, are inadequate.
I've had the watch for 8 months or so and believed that the poor ability to fix on to GPS was due to living in the countryside. Since moving to London the issue is worse and has taken 5-10 mins to get a fix. In addition after a 2hr run the watch is down to only 30% power left, even after not having music, and stopping all the other features.
Very disappointed and frustrated with the watch. It really has no use as a credible running watch for runners.
