The neon colour with red laces looks sick. Not going to lie, I mostly bought these because there was a good offer. I’ve had countless tennis shoes over the years, including very expensive ones, but they were always too tight and painful, so I ended up collecting them and playing in running or training shoes instead, which isn’t great for stability. I’d never owned Barricades before, so I decided to at least try them—especially since these are from Stella McCartney’s range and the colour is great. Knowing how tennis shoes fit, I sized up a full size, and even then, I think they only just fit. I don’t understand why all tennis shoes run so chronically small and narrow, and Barricades are unfortunately no exception. A full size up feels slightly more comfortable, so I’ll probably give them a go on court. If these don’t work for me, this is likely where I give up on tennis shoes for good. Generally speaking, given how stiff tennis shoes are, you’d think there would be better wide-fit options with a taller toe box available—but it’s extremely hard to find anything suitable that also looks stylish if you have bunions or wide feet.

I am a male pickleball player. I have a pair of ladies volleyball shoes that I wear for indoor (hardwood) courts. I ordered these McCartneys the same size as my other female shoes. Unfortunately, my thought process didn't work. They were too small. And the size I did order was the largest available.
